Legal Help with Auto Accident Claims in Illinois

Truck Accidents • Car Accidents • Motorcycle Accidents • Pedestrian and Bicycle Accidents

Q. How long do I have to settle my car accident claim?
A. There is a time limit (statute of limitations) during which you must bring your claim. An adult usually has two years within which to settle or sue. If the case is against a government employee driving during the course of business, you may have only one year. A different rule applies for children or adults who are incompetent.

Q. How long will it take for my car accident case to be resolved?
A. Auto accident cases can be settled within six months if court is not necessary. The length of time may depend on whether you are in state or federal court and the severity of your injuries.

One of the most frustrating situations we face at the law office of Allison & Mosby-Scott is trying to help a seriously injured person who thought he or she was doing everything right but ended up losing money they were due because they trusted an insurance company to protect them.

Insurance companies aren't in the business of protecting your rights — lawyers are.

All too often, injured people delay in filing reports; they make taped statements to insurance companies that limit their ability to collect damages, or they accept far less money in payment for their injuries than they will need.

The only way to avoid making these unintentional errors is to talk with a personal injury lawyer right after your car, truck or motorcycle accident.  Speaking with an attorney will help in getting accurate information about your rights and what you can do to protect yourself.

If you or a loved one have suffered a serious injury — such as a head injury, back injury, broken bones or a spinal cord injury — contact injury attorney William Allison at Allison & Mosby-Scott. Mr. Allison has been protecting the rights of injured people for more than 30 years.

Mr. Allison's extensive understanding of medical issues and access to medical and investigative resources makes him an excellent choice for clients with extensive injuries. He is familiar with the lasting effects that remain even after therapy has ended — effects that need to be taken into account before accepting a final financial settlement.

He also has experience in helping clients achieve financial recovery in car accident cases involving uninsured and underinsured motorists.
